For nearly 50 years, JM&A Group has been one of the most trusted names in automotive Finance & Insurance — serving more than 3,800 dealerships nationwide and building a philosophy around something that separates them from the rest: genuinely understanding the buyer. When they decided to build the technology to match that philosophy, the result was Gyde. I led the design of this platform as Design Lead, shaping both the product vision and the process behind it. Gyde launched at NADA 2026 as the industry's first adaptive F&I selling solution — recognized as one of the strongest software announcements of the show.

F&I Managers Had the Right Intentions. Their Tools Were Failing Them.

Discovery started with primary research — building a service blueprint of the end-to-end F&I experience to surface exactly where trust broke down. The insights were unambiguous: the problem wasn't bad intentions, it was tools that made transparency structurally impossible, and a process with no mechanism to match the right product to the right buyer.
01
Every Other F&I Tool Starts With a Product. Gyde Starts With a Buyer Profile.

The core design decision was structural: start with a buyer interview that builds a real profile before a single product is shown. We validated that approach through onsite research with F&I managers in live dealership transactions, remote buyer research sessions, and expert panels with JM&A subject matter experts pressure-testing every question and flow against how F&I actually unfolds on a showroom floor.

03
The F&I Menu Told Buyers What Things Cost. It Never Told Them What They Were Buying.

The design challenge was making complex F&I products genuinely legible to someone who'd never thought about them before. We built interactive coverage simulators and scenario-based content that let buyers explore what was actually covered — replacing a confusing document with something that felt like a real conversation.
04
Designed Only for Experts, F&I Tools Were Quietly Widening the Skill Gap Across Every Dealership.

F&I tools had historically been built for experts, leaving newer managers to figure it out alone. The design decision was to build for the full range: a single environment that guided newer managers through each step while staying efficient enough for experienced ones who just needed to move fast.
05
A Product This Complex Only Stays Coherent if the System Underneath It Is Built Right From the Start.
Shipping three apps — Deals, Admin, and Reporting — to 3,800+ dealerships required a system that could enforce consistency at scale without slowing down development. We built the design system with that constraint at its core: predictable component behavior across contexts, accessibility built in from the start, and patterns designed for fast, quality-consistent expansion.

Financial Storytelling
Images should capture real-world financial scenarios—professionals analyzing reports, business owners reviewing balance sheets, and teams discussing financial strategies. This reinforces Redo’s role in helping businesses take control of their finances.

Outcomes
Gyde launched publicly at NADA 2026 — the automotive industry's largest annual conference — on January 27th, recognized as one of the strongest software announcements of the show. Automotive News named it one of four F&I technologies targeting real dealership pain points. Gyde is live today and actively rolling out across JM&A's network of 3,800+ dealerships nationwide.
